Bill Davis is a Washington DC based consultant with over 30 years experience leading non profit organizations as a board chair, President, governing board member and chief executive officer. Principal of Bill Davis Consulting, he specializes in non profit governance, board development, executive leadership, organizational management and strategic planning. Bill currently serves as a Certified Governance Trainer for BoardSource, a national organization providing services to non profit boards. In that capacity he offers training to non profit boards in the areas of governance roles and responsibilities, board-staff partnerships, board structure, the board-building cycle, board performance assessment, and the board's role in fundraising. Prior to establishing his consulting firm, Bill served for 16 years as the Executive Director of the American Anthropological Association. He also served as President of the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives, and a member of the governing boards of the American Council of Learned Societies, the National Humanities Alliance, the Consortium of Social Science Associations and the American Society of Public Administration. Previously he served as Executive Director of the federal Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations, and the founding Board Chair of the non profit American Council on Intergovernmental Relations. |
